This 45 minute class will include ballet, acrobatics & tumbling, jazz, and tap. Our fast paced preschool program is based on a fun well organized atmosphere. Our debut dancers learn many skills to help their physical development, balance, strength, and coordination. We also teach our preschoolers how to learn in their individual way. Using age appropriate music and dances, we build on the young dancers natural love of music and movement, providing a nurturing, stimulating, yet very structured classroom specifically designed for this age child. A love of dance that will last a lifetime can begin these first years of class.
This class is a 60 minute combination class and will include all of the basic dance styles that we teach our 3-4 class turned up a notch. This age group is really eager to learn and build on the base they have developed. Our class is 15 minutes longer giving us more time each week to expose them to new material.
This class is offered in 60, 75,. & 90 minute options and will include ballet, acrobatics & tumbling, jazz & hip hop,tap/clogging, cheer basics and more. These classes are designed for early elementary grades dancers to be exposed to several disciplines of dance in the same class. Our main goal is to develop a positive attitude towards dance and learning.
We create a fun, new, and exciting environment as we stretch their bodies, build strength, add to their dance skills, increasing their attention spans and memorization, building each year to create a foundation of strength, focus, grace, and self-expression.
There are several levels of this class and dancers will be placed appropriately depending on skill level. Jazz emphasizes the control and motion of the body with the freedom of stretching, isolations, progressions across the floor, center combinations and routines including many different styles of jazz and hip hop including contemporary, street, funk, lyrical, musical theatre, Latin, modern, and more. Jazz is a fast fun form of self expression and a contemporary stylized dance. Dancers will learn proper technique, kicks, leaps, turns, and various jazz combinations. Hip hop is a stylish funky version of jazz using a street influence.
Acrobatics combines the skills, power, and flexibility of tumbling with the grace and coordination of dance. Balanced limber & contortion tricks are taught as well as aerial and power tumbling. This class also learns acrobat and cheer partnering and builds. Adding an all acro class to a dance or combination class is a great way to accelerate your dancer's skill, and it can be added as a second class at the discounted pay rate. Dancers enrolled in all tumbling class are required to have been in a combo class for two years or also be enrolled in a lyrical, jazz, or hip hop class to learn the dance technique and terminology that accompany the tumbling.
Ballet provides serious dancers with the technical training to perform at an advanced level. Ballet is the foundation of all dance styles. Barre work is a series of exercises carefully designed to prepare the body for the demands of all forms of dance. Each exercise has a function of strengthening specific parts of the torso, hips, legs, ankles, feet, neck, shoulders, and arms. Dancers will learn the mechanics of turning and develop the strength balance, extension, and flexibility needed to perform ballet, lyrical, and contemporary. Lyrical and Contemporary styles of dance where students will push themselves mentally and physically to execute movement that is complex, intricate, and dynamic.
These classes are 45 minutes and are available to dancers who join dance at a later age or have participated in the combination classes provided at our studios or another studio. Tap & clogging are great vehicles for developing rhythm, coordination, musicality, and balance. The student will learn basic to advanced clogging and tap technique, terminology, and progressive steps to form routines. The dancers feet become instruments sounding out rhythms, patterns, and beats.
Teens and Adults
We offer sessions of Line Dancing classes which included many genres of music with simple two and four repetitive dances. This a super fun way to get a lot of exercise while having fun. Leigh Ann also teaches Line Dancing at the Bar W Dude and Guest Ranch and at Flathead Brewery.
Dance Fitness classes are also offered in sessions and include a warm up, simple dances to pop music, stretching, stamina and strength work, followed by a cool down.
